As I dig into this spinach quiche, I am thinking what more could a young woman of exceptional taste need? And then it hits me - a better quiche. A homemade quiche of fresh spinach, fresh cream, fresh eggs. . . this would sit better on my palate than this bland microwaveable concoction I am currently dining upon.
And as an editor, I see so much work that is just that - microwaveable. Mass produced, as if it were written by a machine. Bland, tasteless.
A good writer is like a good chef - he knows how to take the freshest ingredients and mix them in a way that is simple yet satisfying. If only I could find that writer - I'm hungry for him. (Or her).
I'll whip your work into submission - or give it wings to fly.
